Wilbur B. Ward

Hephzibah, GA – Wilbur B. Ward, 90, entered into rest Friday, August 28, 2015, at Ann Tapley’s Personal Care Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 31, 2015, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Reverend John Messick officiating.
Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. Ward, son of the late Clarence and Sally Palmer Ward, was a native of Metter, GA, and was a Baptist. He was a Farmer and was a member of the Oliver Hunting Club for many years. He farmed in Augusta at Goshen for 10 years and Grove Hill Plantation in Savannah for 36 years. .
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jimmy White and his great great grandson, Oliver White.
He is survived by his sons, Linnie Ward (Judy), of North Augusta, SC, and Frank Ward (Brenda), of Powder Springs, GA; his daughter, Sherry Goodman (Freddie), of Hephzibah; his sisters, Janie Jones, of Augusta, and Aloe Fullmore, of Statesboro; six grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jessie Sullivan, Jerry Sullivan, Travis Ward, Greg Ward, Devan White, and Chris White.
If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1899 Central Ave, Augusta, GA 30904.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 31, 2015, from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the funeral home.

  1. Franklin, Linnie, and Sherry, Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. My Mother actually went to some of the Senior meetings with your father, and really enjoyed getting to know him again and keeping up with your family. We will be thinking of you tomorrow.
