Augusta, GA – Wilberd Still, 84, of Augusta, Ga, passed away on January 27, 2021, while surrounded by his family.
Wilberd was born on March 30, 1936, in Bulloch County Georgia to the late Marvel Addison Still and Elise Bolton-Still. He grew up in Rocky Ford and Millen, Georgia, where he enjoyed fishing trips with his Dad, talks with his Mom, and playing with brothers and sisters.
In 1952, he moved to Gracewood, Georgia and spent a short time serving in the US Navy. After returning to Gracewood, Georgia, Wilberd began working as a carpenter for companies throughout Georgia and later became a project superintendent for R.B Wright Construction Company.
February of 1961, Wilberd met his first wife, the late Betty Ruth Stevens, after a quick courtship they wed on March 3, 1961, going on to have three children, Cendy Ann Still, Wilberd Paul Still, and Angela Gracen Still.
Wilberd was an incredible man, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. Wilberd was unendingly proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and always tried his best to support them in all their endeavors.
In 2007, Wilberd was wed to his second wife, Linda Ann Jones and helped raise her children Sherri and Debbie, and Grandson Brian.
Wilberd was a great craftsman who could often be found outback in his workshop making special gifts for his family.
After retiring from R.B. Wright in 2001, Wilberd continue to remain active and loved to help his family and friends with their home projects. He enjoyed gardening and later in life he mastered the computer and enjoyed staying in touch with his family and friends on Facebook, where you could always find him sharing a picture or two of his beloved children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Through his love of sharing pictures, he learned how to edit pictures and how to make video montages. Wilberd also loved researching his Genealogy and connecting or reconnecting with extended family.
Anyone who knew Wilberd knew that he was the most loving Dad, Papa and husband a family could ever ask for in life.
Wilberd was predeceased by his parents Marvel Addison Still and Elise Bolton-Still, his sisters Arlene Still-Prickett, Corrine Still-Lamb, brothers Joseph Still, and Thurmond Still.
He is survived by his sister Rita Mae Still-McNeely; his three children Cendy Ann Still-Bryan-Bass, Wilberd Paul Still (Maria), Angela Gracen Still-Newton-Paulson (Glenn); his seven grandchildren, Ashley Bryan-Dyches, William Brandon Bryan (Brittany) Jennifer Marie Still-Baughman (Paul), Michael Paul Still, Jason Howard Still (Jeweline), Christopher Cody Newton (Whitney), Thomas Brett Newton (Ansley); sixteen great grandchildren, Leland Dyches, Jett Dyches, Lillian Bryan, Landon Bryan, Lakelyn Bryan, Logan Bryan, Legacy Bryan, Katelyn Littleton, Jace Baughman, Layla Still, Brody Still, Ashyr Still, Atreyu Still, Cain Still, Sophie Newton, Avery Newton. His wife, Linda Ann Jones-Gaskill-Still; two stepchildren, Sherri Gaskill-Tokar (Anthony), Debbie Gaskill; three step grandchildren, Maria Tokar, Michelle Tokar, and Brian A. Athearn; and two step great grandchildren, Natalie Wellmaker and Alison Wellmaker.
