class=”alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-393″ title=”Brooks Photo” src=”×150.jpg” alt=”Brooks Photo” width=”150″ height=”150″ />Augusta, GA – Wanda Lee Breshears Brooks, wife of the late James Harold Brooks, Sr., entered into rest Saturday, January 23, 2010.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Janaury 26, 2010, at 11:00 A.M., at the graveside in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Family and friends are requested to assemble at the graveside with Reverend Billy Atkins officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ruth Bible Class at Fleming Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brooks, a native of Warsaw, Missouri, was the daughter of the late Floyd Earl and Elsie Breshears. She was retired from the Richmond County Board of Education as a lunch room manager. Mrs. Brooks loved to travel, fish, camp and square dance. She was a member of Fleming Baptist Churh and had taught the children’s Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her son James H. Brooks, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Social Circle; two daughters, Rebecca and her husband Victor McCann of Clarks Hill, SC and Lisa and her husband Mark D. Jones of Appling, GA; grandchildren, James H. Brooks, III and his wife Amanda of Lincolnton, GA, Joshua Brooks and his wife Jami and Timothy Brooks and his wife Amy all of Gibson, GA, Adam Silas and his wife Ashley of Evans as well as Jared Smith, Katlyn Jones and Mark D. Jones, Jr. all of Appling; great grandchildren Dallas Brooks of Lincolnton, GA, Chant Brooks of Gibson and Connor and Colten Silas of Evans.
If desired memorials may be made to Fleming Baptist Church, 3027 Peach Orchard Rd., Augusta, GA 30906.
The family will receive friends this Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.

    Her laugh still echoes, her life still inspires, her light still shines and always will. I am so thankful that I knew her. She lives on in so many hearts including mine.

    You are in my thoughts and prayers. I know Wanda is rejoicing to be home in the presence of our Lord & Savior.I know she is glad to be with your Dad again Jim. Maybe she will get to meet Nicole there. We’ll get to see them again one day soon & what a glorious day that will be.
