Augusta, GA – Virginia McDade, 87, wife of the late Fred McDade, entered into rest Friday, March 23, 2012 at Doctor’s Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 26, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Pastor Mark Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.
Mrs. McDade was born in Augusta, GA and was the daughter of the late Coleman and Anna Lucas Barfoot. She retired from the Murray Biscuit Company as a packer.
Mrs. McDade was the oldest member of Friendship United Methodist Church where she had served many years as treasurer and she and her husband helped build the current sanctuary. She also was a member of the UMW, of the Adult Sunday School Class she taught Sunday School and preached in the absence of the preacher along with her dear friend Anna Collins.
Her children expressed she will be greatly missed and have fond memories of her. She was always, always there, especially for her grand-kids.
Mrs. McDade was preceded in death by her daughter Wonnie Langley; her grandson, James F. Williams; her great grandson William Justin Bullard; her sister Verdria Watkins; and her brother Tommie Barfoot.
Additional survivors include, her son and daughter in law, James R. and Betty McDade; her daughters and son in law, Cheryl and Tommy Beauford, and Marquita Hodges all of Augusta; Fourteen grandchildren, thirty six great and great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Active Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Friendship United Methodist Church 3027 Tobacco Rd. Hephzibah, GA 30815.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
