Sue Laney Simless
Memorial services will be held from Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 29, 2016 with Dr. Mike Cash and Reverend Greg Hatfield officaiting.
Mrs. Simless was a native of Liberty City, AL and was the daughter of the late Howard Wilson and Elizabeth Powell Laney. She had taught kindergarten in her younger years at Burns Memorial United Methodist Church, Glenn Hills Baptist Church and at Augusta Christian Schools. She was a former member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and currently was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church. At Trinity she was a member of the Chancel Choir, the Prime Time Singers, and of the Damron Sunday School Class where she had served as Treasurer. She loved Auburn football and to travel, having visited all lower 48 states. She loved her family, her church, her country and her Saviour Jesus Christ.
As well as her parents, Mrs. Simless was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Simless.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Simless is survived by her sons, Jeff Simless and his wife Traci and Scott Simless; her sister, Mary McCarty; her grandchildren, J.B. and his wife Kim, Trenee and her fiancee’ Josh, Claire and Ty; and her great grandchildren, MacKenzie, Jackson, Colt and Savannah.
If desired, memorials may be made to the Beatification Fund at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, 1330 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, GA, 30904.
The family will receive friends in the gathering area of Trinity on the Hill from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
