Stormy Nicole Byrd
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors this Sunday, April 9, 2017, at 3:00 P.M. with the Pastor Mark Taylor and Pastor Wayne Usry officiating.
Stormy was a beautiful young lady, inside and out, who had a love for her family that exceeded all. A daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and cousin, all of which she was proud to be. A typical teenager, she loved to be around her friends. Stormy was a 2016 graduate of Grovetown High School where she participated in the Skills USA program and was currently enrolled at East Georgia College – Augusta Campus, majoring in Early Childhood Development. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church where she was a Children’s Sunday School Assistant. Stormy was also employed at Discovery Kids Zone where she was a Teacher’s Assistant. Besides her obvious love of working with children, Stormy’s true passion was dancing and danced for a number of years with Center Stage Dance Academy. Her love of dance always showed on her face when she was on stage. Center Stage said Stormy was a “bright, shining star”. Stormy is now continuing her passion and dancing with Jesus, but will be forever and deeply missed by her family and countless friends. Stormy’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her beautiful, bright smile and stunning natural beauty could light up any room. She led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories, as long as you took a picture everywhere you went.
She was preceded in death by her uncles, David Gould and Terry Huffton; and her paternal grandmother, Carolyn Newman.
Other survivors include her brother, Victor Paige Byrd; her sister, Skyler Lynn Byrd; her maternal grandparents, Gladys Gould; and Otis and Vicki Gould; paternal grandparetns, Dorsey and Bernadette Byrd; aunt, Jessica and Daniel Klingle and their daughter, C.J., Tammy Slocumb; uncle, Timothy and Katie Byrd and their son, Briggs; as well as numerous other cousins.
The family will receive friends this Saturday from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
