Stephen “Mark” Sloan
Augusta, GA – Stephen “Mark” Sloan, 61, husband of 40 years to Glora Kudirko Sloan, entered into rest Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Doctors Hospital.
Mr. Sloan, son of the late Betty Freeman Sloan and Charles Frank Sloan, Sr. was born in Woodruff, SC, and was a member of Oasis Church, Hephzibah. He was the owner of Sloan’s Marine. He started work at the gas docks at Tradewinds Marina in 1976. He went on to open Harbor Point Marine at Tradewinds in 1999 and owned it until 2006, at which time he thought he would retire. However, he could not remain still and started Sloan’s Marine which he ran until his untimely passing.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kim Sloan Robb, wife of Jim Robb, Plum Branch, SC.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Stephen Sloan (Brittany), and Stephanie Sloan Tyrpin (Bo); his grandchildren, Ryan Michael Sloan, who started calling Mark that’s my “Buddy”, Cason Mark Sloan, Brody Luke Tyrpin, Briar Sloan Tyrpin, and Raylon Briggs Tyrpin; as well as his brother, Charles Frank Sloan, Jr.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 3rd, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 4th, 2021, at 2:00 PM from Oasis Church, 2228 HWY 88, Hephzibah, GA, with Pastor Wesley Weatherford officiating.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
