Sara Miller Stratacos

Augusta, GA –  Sara Miller Stratacos, 94, entered into rest on Thursday, September 9, 2021.
A Chapel service will be held at Chance & Hydrick on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 12:00 PM, with the Reverend Patrick Latta officiating. The burial will directly follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stratacos, a native of Augusta,  was the daughter of the late Ernest Gustave and Nellie Hair Miller.  She retired with over 30 years of service at Sears and Roebuck. She was a longtime member of Fleming Baptist Church where she was active in the Lydia Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ronald Todd Strength; her siblings, Cecil Miller, Thelma Miller Pearson, Harold Miller and Marvin Miller.
Survivors include her daughters, Marie Stratacos Newman (Lansing R.) and Teresa Stratacos Strength; her grandchildren, Steven Gregory Newman and Angela Newman Day (Richard); great grandchildren, Aubrey Richard Day and Katie Teresa Day; her siblings, John Miller (Patrisia), Ellen Miller Wolf, Donald Miller and Ronald Miller (Karen); as well as many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Steven Newman , Richard Day, Aubrey Day, David Miller, Ernie Miller, and Jack Watson.
The family would like to thank the Staff & Care of University Extended care – Amara.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fleming Baptist Church Missions Fund.

  1. Dear Teresa and Marie, I was real sorry to hear about Mema passing away. We, the Harris boys, will keep Mema in our prayers. To Marie, Teresa, and family, from Micheal Harris and family, we extend our sincere condolences to the passing of Mema and we know she’s in a better place, and we look forward to when we can meet her in that place with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  2. So sorry for your loss. She lived a long fruitful life, with the richness of a close and loving family and has now gone on to meet her Master, Savior and Redeemer. An eternal reward we all look forward to, when the Master calls……Love and Blessings to the family.

  4. Teresa, Marie & family, I am so very sorry to hear of the demise of your mom. She was a mentor to me when I worked with her. I cherished her friendship. Last time I spoke with her we were planning a lunch get together. I’m sorry we never made it. She definitely lived a long and fruitful life. My condolences and heartfelt sympathy is with you. I am unfortunately unable to be in attendance for her services. My thoughts & prayers are with you as you prepare to lay her to rest. May you feel Gods love mercy and Grace now and in the days ahead.
