Sallie P. Singleton
Augusta, GA – Sallie P. Singleton, 81, wife of the late John Paul Singleton, entered into rest Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Golden Living Augusta.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Pastor Gail Norwood officiating.
Mrs. Singleton, daughter of the late Henry Baldwin and Lucille Wilder, was a native of Statesboro, GA. She taught school for 40 years, retiring from Ramah Junior Academy. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventists since she was seventeen.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Wilder.
She is survived by her children, Christopher Singleton, of Savannah;, Sheila Y. Singleton, of Augusta, Paulette Newborn, of Collins, GA, and David L. Singleton, of Springfield, IL; her adopted daughter, Mary McClain, of August; her grandchildren, Sharmeyne Clark, Jelani B. Tate, Ebony M. Munson, Jasmine Tate, Andre’ Singleton, and Andrea Singleton; eight great grandchildren; and her sister in law, Annie Wilder, of Washington, DC.
