  1. Gerald and I would like to extend our heartfelt sympathy to Ann and her family at the passing of her Mother, Ruth Lewis. Ruth recruited Neina to teach at Augusta Christian Schools in the late 70s. Anna was one of the bright students in the 10th grade class taught by me. It was a wonderful teaching experience. Ruth was such an inspiring example of a Christian and always gracious to me. Though I was only a part-time teacher, Ruth made certain I was invited to various school functions. She seemed to wear “many hats” during my brief time at Augusta Christian. Gerald knew Dave as a fellow faculty member at Augusta College and had met both Ruth and Dave.
Praying God’s peace and comfort for you.

  2. Dear Anna and Family:

I’ve just heard the sad news of Mrs. Lewis’s passing. You know she was my favorite teacher of all time–EVER! I cannot overstate the profound influence she had on my upbringing and development from an inquisitive youth to a thriving adult. I have thought of her often over the years, and, no matter where in the world I have gone, I have taken a large piece of her with me. Her love of history remains with me to this day, and the many great truths she taught me have often come to mind as I have traveled to places I could never have dreamed I would one day see back in the day at ACS. I have always loved her, and looked upon her as a surrogate parent, of sorts, and certainly as a mentor. I regret that I was unable to see her in her latter years. Please know that, as the song says, she was always on my mind, and you, too, Anna, along with your family, are all on my mind right now, and you will continue to be in the coming days and weeks. I pray that you and yours derive the immense comfort you should feel from having had so amazing a mother and grandmother for so long. In that, you were, are are, truly blessed! Godspeed!

    With my deepest condolences,
