Roy Stanley Mills

Augusta, GA – Roy Stanley Mills, 67, husband of Cornelia Altee Mills, entered into rest Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Doctors Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016, at 3:00 PM, from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Wayne Todd officiating.

Interment will follow in Walker Family Cemetery (Arsenal Avenue.)

Mr. Mills, son of the late Alex Stephens and Vernessa Dale Whittington Mills, was born in Adrian, GA. He retired after 32 years as a forklift operator from Georgia Pacific (J&J Midsouth) and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Donald E. Mills (Mildred), of Hephzibah, David M. Mills, of Augusta, and Roy E. Mills (April), also of Hephzibah; his brother, Junior Mills (Polly), of Lizella, GA; his sisters Helen Davison, of Ohio, and Melba Spivey, of Evans; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Adam Gilstrap, Tyler Finch, Doug Norton, Rudy Mills, Timmy Mills, and Nick Duncan.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 3612 Mike Padgett Hwy, Augusta, GA 30906.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 27, 2016, from 2:00 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home.

  1. You have our deepest sympathy in the passing of Uncle Stanley. I’m thankful I got to visit with him & Aunt Connie when they came to Ohio this past year. I will treasure all the times we went fishing and cherish each memory we made. Give everyone our love. Looking forward to the day we all can celebrate together in Heaven. I still can’t beleave my uncle Stanley is gone I seen him at Christmas I still remember how he looked and can still hear him calling me the nickname he always called me .i have a lot of memories of him and fishing with him at clarks hill I love you uncle Stanley and will miss you I know you are fishing in heaven .
