Mozelle “Moe” Bodie North Augusta, SC – Mozelle Clayton Bodie, 93, wife of the late Gary Bodie entered into rest Friday, November 24, 2023, at her daughter’s residence. Memorial services will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Rick Nevard officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Mrs. Bodie, daughter of the late Stoffard L. Clayton, and the late Laura E. Henderson Clayton was born in Holly Springs, SC. Previously having lived in North Augusta, she and her family decided to move back to the area in 1979. She lived with her son and his family in Waynesboro, GA for more than two-years prior to her death, where they lovingly cared for her. She was a faithful member of Broad Street Baptist Church. She retired from Georgia Railroad Bank as a PBX operator, worked at Fiberglass Company in Aiken SC and established, “Moe’s Pekes” a small business for breeding, training and showing Pekingese dogs. Her dogs were known far and wide as many were national champions. She also enjoyed sewing, crafting, and handwork, last but certainly not least her passion was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, James Ardell Clayton, Gladys Christine Clayton, Vance Lee Clayton, Harold Marchant Clayton, Marjorie Virginia Clayton, Marshall Deland Clayton, and Crystal Ann Clayton; her bonus daughter Catherine Summers. She is survived by her children, Dianne Ivey Waller (David), Kathy Ivey Adams (Jerry), Gregory “Greg” Lee Ivey, Sr.; her niece she loved as a daughter, Judy Genobles Morris (Johnny); her grandchildren, Dana Clayton Jenkins (Richie), James “Jamie” Randolph Clayton (Denise), Joel Robert Clayton (Emily), Ivey Nicole Savage (Matt), Gregory Lee Ivey, Jr., and Laura Ashley Ivey West; her twelve great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, and nephews who she loved.
