Morgan Clyde Jones, a man of steadfast integrity and deep Christian faith, was called home to his eternal reward on August 23, 2026, at the age of 85. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Morgan’s life stood as a beautiful testament to the power of devotion and the strength of family bonds. Funeral services will be held at Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors at 3:00pm on Friday, August 28, 2026, with the Reverend Tracy Pressley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm–8:00pm on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Born in 1941 to Morgan J. and Myrtis P. Jones, Morgan grew up in a household that prioritized character and love. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tommy Jones. The kindness and strength he carried throughout his life were the fruits of those early years and family traditions. The heart of Morgan’s world was his soulmate of 66 years, Harriett Paul Jones. Married on October 18, 1959, their union was a vibrant example of partnership and shared spiritual purpose. Together, they built a home defined by grace, creating a family that remained his greatest earthly joy. Though he spent his career in the building supply industry, Morgan was best known as the ultimate handyman. With a rare talent for fixing anything and a generous spirit, he was always the first to offer his help to anyone in need. His love of his community extended to the ballfield, where he enjoyed many years of coaching and playing softball. To his family, the most comforting sound was his joyful whistle; whether working or resting, he could be heard whistling hymns through his teeth—a melodic reminder of the joy he found in his walk with God. Morgan’s legacy lives on through his children and their spouses: Pamela (David) Bourbo, Morgan "MC" (Melissa) Jones, and Susan (Craig) Arrington. He was the doting and proud grandfather to Neil Bourbo, Jeffrey Bourbo, Hudson Jones, Magnolia “Maggie” Jones, and Caroline Morgan Arrington. A humble servant and Deacon at Open Door Baptist Church, Morgan’s life reflected the love of his Savior. While he will be deeply missed, his family finds peace knowing he is in the presence of the Lord, likely whistling a new song of praise. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude and appreciation as Morgan’s health declined for the loving, compassionate care provided by Deborah, Earnestine, Mattie, and Rhonda. Also a thank you for the special care from hospice and the entire staff at Keysville Nursing Home.
