Julian Stanley Lewis, Jr. Julian Stanley Lewis, Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Piedmont Hospital. He was the best husband, father, and Papa. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 2 PM at Greater Augusta Apostolic Church, 4406 Wrightsboro Road, Grovetown, GA 30813 with Ministers Mark Maddox and Wesley McClain officiating. Visitation will be from 12-2 at the church. Internment will be private. Stanley was born in Augusta, Ga to Julian Stanley Lewis, Sr. and Julia Robinson Lewis. He graduated from Evans High School and attended Abraham Baldwin College. He started working at Continental Can which later became Federal Paper Board, and then International Paper Co. where he retired after 42 years of service. Stanley was a member of First United Pentecostal Church where he served as associate pastor. He loved to hunt and fish and spend time outdoors. He could often be found at the farm where his father was raised. He will be remembered as a kind and loving man who was always willing to help anyone in need and who loved the Lord. He spent many years as a youth leader at church and enjoyed all of the time spent with the youth. He served as a chaplain at University Hospital for many years. When he was ten years old he met the love of his life. It took him a few years to convince her that she was, but when he did, they were inseparable. He would marry Nellie Knotts Lewis in 1973 and spend the next fifty-two years with his sweetheart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Charlotte Lewis. Stanley is survived by his loving wife, Nellie Knotts Lewis, his daughter, Allison Watts (George), and son, Alex Lewis (Candace), his grandchildren, Grayson Watts, Isabella Lewis, and McKinley Lewis, his sister, Cheryl Holton (Mike), his Uncle, Gilford Lewis, sister in laws, Annette Cushman, Becky Williams (Mike), Elizabeth Ohmes (John), nieces, Bethany Holton, Lauryn Holton, Rhonda Cronan, and nephew, Ronnie Cushman, Jr., his special friends and cousins, Terry Lewis and Jeff Lewis, and many more cousins and friends.
