Bobbie Jo Howard Jennings

Augusta, GA – Bobbie Jo Howard Jennings, 83, entered into rest after a life defined by deep devotion to her family, unwavering faith, and boundless kindness. A faithful, God-fearing woman, Bobbie Jo loved the Lord with all her heart and faced the end of her life journey with peace and comfort. Born of June 25, 1943, in Augusta, Georgia, she grew up in the Lake Olmsted community. As the oldest of five children, she embraced her role with immense dedication. Though small in stature, she was mighty in spirit, serving as a fierce protector, a second mother, a patient referee, and a steadfast, lifelong friend to her siblings. In October 1965, Bobbie Jo married the absolute love of her life, Winston Jennings. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared 38 years of marriage until his untimely passing in 2001. She carried his memory in her heart every day, comforted by her deep assurance that they would one day be reunited. Bobbie Jo’s heart was entirely dedicated to her family, and she was happiest when she was taking care of the people she loved. She brought that same work ethic and taking care of the people she loved. She brought that same work ethic and dedication to her career at Kendall, where she worked hard until her well-deserved retirement. In December 2018, she was diagnosed with lung and brain cancer. She fought a brave, inspiring seven-year battle with incredible grace and resilience, guided by the dedicated care of her physician, Dr. Brent Limbaugh. Throughout her illness. Her signature kindness and understanding never wavered. Memorial services will be held from Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 25, 2026, with Chaplain Clifford Paugh officiating. Family will receive friends at 12:00 o'clock one hour prior to the service. Her love lives on through her family. She is survived by her two children, Cindy Jennings Barker (Fred Barker) and Winston Anthony “Tony” Jennings, Jr. (Lisa Adams Jennings); her five grandchildren; her four great-grandchildren; and her beloved siblings, Charlotte Munns, Patricia Parnell, Andrew Howard, and Sharon Osborne.
