In Loving Memory of Betty “Sue” Brown Betty “Sue” Brown, age 87, of Augusta, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on September 15, 2026. Sue was born on November 10, 1938, in Smithville, Tennessee, to her parents Jessee and Clara Hendrixson. She was a faithful and loving wife to Billy Brown, whom she married on November 8, 1954. They shared 54 years of marriage until his passing in 2008. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved spending time with the children and was especially blessed to know and love her great-great grandchildren. Her family was a very important part of her life, and she cherished the time they shared together. Sue’s faith in the Lord was very important to her. Throughout her life, she faithfully served in her church in many ways. Her love for God and her faith were a meaningful part of who she was and the legacy she leaves with her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Billy Brown, and her son, Billy Brown Jr. “Buddy.” She is survived by her two daughters Mitzie (Billy King) and Gail Barletta, and her son, Timothy Brown “Tim.” She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, Denise (David) Pike, Melissa Fuller, Tony (Skylar) Barletta, Kasi Hall, Hunter (Alexis) Nutt, Alisia Pike, Mattie (Jacob) Nutt, Brook Fuller, Katie Beth Pike, Abbey Barletta, Emily and Amy Pike, Ashley Hall, Brayden Taylor, Preslee Nutt, Mallory Nutt, and Haizley Alleva. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all of their friends and loved ones for the prayers, love, and support shown during this difficult time. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday September 18, at 11 am for visitation, and 12 pm for chapel service at Chance and Hydrick Funeral Home. The Reverend John Bartlett will officiate the service, followed by a private burial for the family at Bellevue Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sue, affectionately known as “Grandma” to many, will be greatly loved, lovingly remembered, and deeply missed.
