Hephzibah, GA - Tex Clifford Thomas, 71, husband of Lisa Thomas, entered into rest Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at University Hospital . Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Pastor Darien Spivey and the Reverend David Shelton officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park . Mr. Thomas, a native of Mt. Nebo , WV , was the son of the late Wilbert Winnie Thomas and Elma Mae Cole Amick. He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served in the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Thomas was a Cub Scout Master and he was a member of Miracle Bapist Church where he was active in the Forever Young Sunday School Class, taught the R.A.'s of the church and was a member of the choir. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Callie Mae Thomas; his sister, Goldie Marie Walton; and his brothers, Dannie Douglas Thomas and Roger Lee Thomas. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Clifford Ray Thomas (Tara) of Hephzibah, Steven Wayne Thomas (Sandra) of Pickens, SC, and Joshua Elliott Thomas of Athens, GA; his daughters, Angela Thomas-Barefield (Buddy) of Hephzibah, Sabrina A. Clark of Copperhill, TN, Melissa Lynn Pace of Surfside, SC and Kimberly A. Thomas of Augusta; his brothers, Wilbert Gene Thomas of Summersville, WV and Allen Scott Thomas of Mt. Nebo, WV; his sisters, Irene Gay "Missie" Buckland of Centerburg, OH, Judy Ann Bostic and Linda Sue Murphy both of Mt. Nebo, WV; and his seven grandchildren, Ryan C. Thomas, Alana L. Dixon, Morgan T. Clark, Brooke A. Thomas, Andre D. Clark, IV, Bryce T. Thomas, and Russell M. Pace; and his great grandchildren, Emily G. Thomas and Charlotte R. Thomas. Pallbearers will be, Mickey Martin, Doug Lively, Woody Davis, Roy Morris, Ryan Thomas and Bryce Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be, Charlie Black, Jim Quattlebaum, Jim McIntosh and Ron Pound.
