Faye Helmly Wylds

Augusta, GA - Faye Helmly Wylds, 68, wife of Lawton Wylds, entered into rest Monday, August 20, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 23, 2012, at 2:00 PM from Silvercrest Baptist Church, with Dr. Roy Head, Dr. Eleazer Benenhaley, and Rev. John Kilpatrick officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Wylds, daughter of Gladys Kirkland Helmly and the late Robert Fred Helmly, was born in Augusta and retired as a Medical Staff Coordinator with the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. She was a member of Silvercrest Baptist Church where she was former chairman of the Youth Committee. She taught the Youth, and the College and Career Sunday School Class for ten years, and was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her son, Rev. Robert Todd Wylds, and her sister, Barbara Laughlin. In addition to her husband and her mother, she is survived by her son, John Wylds and his wife, Sharon, of Evans; her daughter Kym Wylds Horton and her husband, Chris, of LaGrange; her grandchildren, Lauren Wylds, Elizabeth Sonnedecker, Danny Wylds, Allyson Wylds, Ashlyn Wylds, and Faith Horton; one sister Deborah Duggan and her husband, Jim, of Arlington, TX; and her special friend, Judy Brinson. The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of both Odyssey Hospice and Select Specialty Hospital, Dr. David Hess, Dr. Paul Schwartz, Dr. Robert Rychley, and Dr. John Blevins. Special thanks is also offered to her caregivers, Eula Mae Prince, Sherri Prince, Sandra Ellenton, Mitzie Burgos (deceased), Ann Hinton, and Dale Jones.
