Mrs. Camille Helen Avakian

AUGUSTA, Ga – Mrs. Camille Helen Avakian, 97, beloved wife of the late Ralph Michael Avakian, entered into rest on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Augusta Gardens.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Wednesday, July 11th, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. A reception in the Parish Hall will follow. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

An anatomical gift of her body has been made to the Georgia Campus Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Survivors include her daughter, Camille A. Price of Augusta; and sons, Michael E. Avakian and Ralph, both of VA; and five grandchildren, James C. Price II, Laura E. Avakian, Jack Avakian, Devon M. Avakian and Alexa E. Avakian.

She was born on August 25, 1920, in Utica, NY, the daughter of Philip and Nancy Amico Alberico. She was predeceased by sisters Anna Boss, Clara Prudential and Ida Comito and brothers Dominic and Ernest Alberico.

Camille served in World War II as a SPAR in the U.S. Coast Guard and was stationed in Alaska. She was a longtime resident of Albany, NY, where she was a loving wife, mother, homemaker and teacher of early childhood education at the Menands School.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Camille H. Avakian to the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2230 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904.
