Mr. Robert Irvine Lamback

Augusta, GA – Mr. Robert Irvine Lamback entered into rest Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M, on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Sandra Leightner officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.

He is survived by his dear friend Sara Corley and his nieces and nephews Yuri, Lori, Susan, Cora, Beverly, Shelia, Tammy, Jimmy and Stephanie.

He was born in Augusta to the late Frederick and Ollie Hett Lamback second-generation descendants of German immigrants with deep roots of service and history in Richmond County. He was third generation member of St. James United Methodist Church where he served in many leadership roles.

He retired from the Production Department of the Augusta Chronicle. Prior to that retirement he started working with a local funeral home in a “second career” that held his interest and allowed him to help people through tough times.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Select Specialty Hospital for their care during his illness.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M., until the hour of service.
