Mildred Dubberly

Hephzibah, GA – Mildred Dubberly, 90, wife of the late Eugene Alvin Dubberly, entered into rest on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors, Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Paul Robertson officiating. Interment will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and other members of her family.

Born in Elkhorn City, KY on June 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Lennie Farmer Rose, and had made the Augusta area her home most of her adult life. Mrs. Dubberly was a homemaker and the best mother and grandmother who loved her children unconditionally. She raised eight of her own children and many other children in her family. She was a wonderful cook, she enjoyed playing horseshoes and was giving, generous, kind, and willing to help and listen anyone who asked. She also loved animals and especially her pet cat Whiskers. She was a member of Windsor Spring Baptist Church.

In addition to Mr. Dubberly, Mrs. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Elzie Holbrooks; and her daughter, Diana Napier.

Survivors include her children, Claude Ransom “Randy” Holbrooks (Sheila), Kennith “Kenny” Holbrooks (Linda), Richard “Rich” Holbrooks (Helen), Scotty “Scott” Holbrooks (Belinda), Bryon Dale Holbrooks, Angela “Angie” Mullins Johns, and Valerie Gwen Holbrooks Bunch (Chuck); her siblings, Paul Rose, Frederick E. Rose, Anthony Rose (Jane), Kenneth Rose and Curtis Rose; a wonderful niece who helped care for her, Karren McTier; twenty two beloved grandchildren; as well as numerous great
grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends this Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
