Matthew Joseph Mitchell

Augusta, GA – Matthew Joseph Mitchell, 34, entered into rest Tuesday, March 26, 2013.
Memorial services will be held Monday, April 1, 2013, at 6:00 PM, from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Dr. Bill King and James Hollingsworth officiating.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Augusta on June 5, 1978. He graduated from Burke County High School and attended Lee University.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Baldree and Mr. John L. Mitchell, and by his uncle, Gary Isaac Baldree.
He is survived by his devoted parents, Susan and Sonny Bargeron, and Karen and Joe Mitchell. He is also survived by his brother, Eric Lanier Bargeron; his sister, Caroline-Elizabeth Rawlins; his grandparents, Caroline Mitchell, and Jamie and Maxine Moxley; and by his uncle, John Mitchell and his wife, Aurilla.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Simpkins, James Hollingsworth, Keith Moxley, and Melissa Cahill.

or to the Paul Anderson Youth Home PO Box 525, Vidalia, GA 30475.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 1, 2013, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

  14. I am heartbroken after hearing this news. Matt was a very sweet man and a great friend of mine at Lee. I loved him more than he ever knew and still thought of him and prayed for him often. I am praying for all of the family as they mourn his loss. God will be your comfort and peace during this time. I’m praying He wraps you in His strong embrace.

He like you Joe liked Golf and was good at it. I hope eh is resting peacfully. and that you Joe, with Karens help will ge through this the best you can.

  27. I worked with Matt at Olive Garden for a while. I was a hostess. He was a fantastic manager, and a wonderful spirit. Such a good man. I am truly saddened by this loss. I will keep his family and friends in my prayers.
