Martha Lue Kicklighter Kalima
Augusta,GA– Martha Lue Kicklighter Kalima, 82, passed away from this earth to go to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday, October 16, 2011, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, October 19th at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Reverend Greg Porterfield officiating.
Ms. Kalima was born Martha Lue Kicklighter in Savannah,Georgia, on June 20, 1929, then reared in Bulloch county. She first married in 1947 and moved to the CSRA in 1960. Ms. Kalima was a farmer’s wife, who raised three children, while working on the farm picking cotton and tobacco. She also held a full time job outside the home. She was a loving Christian woman who raised her family in the Baptist church and was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Brooklet, GA.
She was the youngest of five children and was preceded in death by her two sisters and her twin brothers. She was also preceded in death by her mother, who passed away when Ms. Kalima was only one year old, and her father.
She is survived by her two sons, Frank Ward and his wife, Brenda, andLinnieWard; her daughter, Sherry Goodman; her six grandchildren, Greg Ward, Travis Ward,JenaReynolds, Allison Kitchens, Jimmy White, and Melissa Demas; and many great granchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association,1899 Central Ave, Augusta,GA 30904, to help fight this terrible disease.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
