Marilyn B. Beale

Augusta, GA – Marilyn B. Beale, 87, wife of G.C. “Red” Beale, entered into rest Saturday, June 20, 2015, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at 11:00 AM from Fleming Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Atkins officiating. She will lie in state from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Beale, daughter of the late Glenn Davis Bivens and Christabel Garrett Bivens, was born in Augusta, and was a member of Fleming Baptist Church. She was a Certified Professional Secretary and was a member of the Certified Professional Secretary Society. She was President of the Fairways Chapter from 1987 – 1988. She was named Secretary of the Year in 1988. She received a Meritorious Service Medal on March 28, 1985 from the US Army for her over 40 years of service. This was highlighted by being Secretary to the Deputy Commanding General of the US Army Signal Center, Fort Gordon, GA.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Rachel Bivens; her sister in law, Helen Hangar Bivens; and her brother in law, Joseph G. Cote’.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Karen Beale Anderson and her husband, Larry A., of Sylvania, GA, and Debbie Beale Young and her husband, Raymond A, of Martinez; her grandchildren, Stephen Alan Anderson and his wife, Amy, of Sylvania, Fallon Young Stevens, of Evans, and Hunter Chace Young, of Martinez; her great grandchildren, Bailey Madison Morse and Kinsley Grace Stevens, both of Evans; her sisters, Betty Bivens Rice and her husband, Marion, of Carrollton, GA, Shirley Bivens Lariscy, of Rincon, GA, and Carolyn Bivens Cote’, of Hilton Head, SC; her brother, Glenn Davis Bivens, Jr, of Hilton Head, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The members of the Encouragers Sunday School Class will be Honorary Pallbearers.
