Margaret “Marge” Hosselton Avery

Augusta, GA – Margaret “Marge” Hosselton Avery, 84, wife of 64 years to Jim Avery, entered into rest Friday, December 19, 2014, at University Hospital.

Memorial services will be Saturday, December 27, 2014, 11:00am from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Billy Atkins officiating.

Mrs. Avery, daughter of the late Albert A. and Nellie Rosalie Folger Hosselton, was born in Richmond, VA. She worked as a secretary for Dr. Raborn. She was a member of Fleming Baptist Church where she served on the Home Bound Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Frederick Hosselton, and by her granddaughter, Beth Avery.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Ed Avery, of Augusta, Mike Avery, of Irmo, SC, and Mark Avery and his wife, Jocena, of Locus Grove, GA; her daughter, Wendy Avery, of Augusta; her grandchildren, Brian Richey (Amy), David Avery (Sarah), Jim Avery III and his fiancé, Baylee Williams, Meg Avery and her fiancé, Mark Royston, both of Savannah, Daniel Avery (Rachel), and Michael Avery; five great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Home Bound Ministry of Fleming Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 27, 2014, from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
