Margaret “Betty” Averette Goings

Augusta, GA – Margaret “Betty” Averette Goings, 80, wife of the late Clifford Carvasso Goings, Sr, entered into rest Friday, January 18, 2013, at her residence.
Memorial services will be held Monday, January 21, 2013, at 1:30 PM at First Free Will Baptist Church, 2020 Gardner St, with Lt. Lee and Michelle Wilson and Lt. Amber Morris officiating.
Mrs. Goings, daughter of the late William Newton and Margaret Berry Averette, was born in Ellenton, SC. She was a member of the Salvation Army, where she managed the store for fifteen years and retired as a cook after twenty years.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Moxley, of Augusta, and Pauline Martin, of Charlottesville, VA; her son, Clifford Carvasso Goings, Jr, of Augusta; her sisters, Alice Jane Maddox, of Martinez, and Faye Day, of Stephens, GA; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 21, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM at the church.
