REBECCA VANCE CRAWFORD AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Rebecca "Becky" Vance Crawford, 90, went to be with her Lord Monday, November 11, 2024. She loved her family and treasured each and every moment shared together. She was a caregiver throughout her life, always putting others before herself. She loved her Curtis Baptist church family, spending time with her dear friend Annette Barbin, gardening, the Atlanta Braves, and long walks with her dog, Buddy. She retired after 30 years of service from Gracewood State School and Hospital as a Health Services Technician Lead. Mrs. Crawford is preceded in death by her husband, Sim Nathaniel Crawford, Jr., and sister, Peggy A. Odorizzi. She is survived by a sister, Sharon (Terry) Layton, daughter Peggy (Grant) Olson, Sr.; four sons, Doug Crawford, Mike (Dete) Crawford, Mark (Cindy) Crawford, and Ken Crawford. Fifteen grandchildren: Chanda, Carmen (Doy), Grant, Jr., Nathan, Heather (Jason), Josh (Amy), Ashley (David), Jonathan (Ansley), Stephen, Rachel (Kristina), Tiffany (Greg), Carly (Hunter), Cheri (Steven), Kenneth, Jr. (Kaitlyn) and Kaitlin. Also, Brooke, Evan and Juliana who were like grandchildren to her. Twenty-three great-grandchildren: Cali, Gus, River, Audrey, Zeke, Haley Jean, Haley Marie, Hunter, Ashlyn, Jason Jr., Charlotte, Avery, Harper, Becca, Landon, Cooper, Tucker, Elaina, Emersyn, Sophie, Nicole, Aven and Conrad. One great-great grandchild, Elijah, and one on the way. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 PM, Friday, November 15, 2024 in the Richmond Hill Road Chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Sterling officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Nathan Crawford, Josh Crawford, Jonathan Crawford, Stephen Crawford, Kenneth Crawford, Jr., Steven Jackson, Greg Smith and Hunter Boose. Honorary pallbearers will be the Wilcox Sunday School Class of Curtis Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Friday from noon until 1 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Curtis Baptist Church, 1348 Broad Street, Augusta, GA 30901.
