Randy Wayne Bohannon

Mr. Randy Wayne Bohannon of Augusta, GA, passed away at his home on February 12, 2024, at the age of 61. He was born in Dade City, FL on September 7, 1962, the son of Reba W. Bohannon, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Barbara; his sisters Connie Herndon (Terry) and Peggy Deaton (Steve); his children Wayne Bohannon (Mackenzie), Rusty Bohannon (Lora), and Kristin McKew (Jeff); and his grandchildren Kenner, Ava, Ella, Watson, Amelia, Kylie, Ian, and Aiden. Randy was perpetually doting on the love of his life, Barbara, his bride of 40 wonderful years. Randy enjoyed a career in the field of maintenance for 40 years. He was known as a man who could troubleshoot and fix most anything. With an easy smile and a mischievous twinkle in his eye, Randy lifted the mood of everyone he encountered. As soon as he walked into a room, you knew that great stories and lots of laughs were on the way. He was an avid outdoorsman with a true love of animals (especially his horses and dogs) and a passion for hunting and fishing. He embodied the cowboy country boy spirit, and he reveled in sharing that with his children and grandchildren. Most days you would find him in Carhartt jeans, boots, and a hat. If you were lucky, you would catch him in his “what happens in the barn stays in the barn” t shirt. Randy’s family was his greatest source of joy and pride, and he excelled in providing love and support for them up until the very end of his life. He will be remembered for his remarkable loyalty and readiness to lend a helping hand in a friend or stranger’s time of need. Randy was the first call when help was needed, no matter the time of day or night. Although he is gone too soon, Randy’s memory will be kept alive in the hearts of all those who loved him and whom he loved so dearly. The family will hold a visitation on Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 3-5 PM at Chance & Hydrick Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, February 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Bellevue Cemetery with Pastor Dewain French officiating. The pall bearers will be Ricky Williams, Alan Herndon, Terry Herndon, Ethan Herndon, Mike Yohe, and Trey Holden.
