Perry Lynn James On the night of July 2nd, 2023, Perry Lynn James, of North Augusta, SC passed peacefully. His wife, Sandy, was by his side. Perry was born on April 29th, 1964, in Augusta, GA. He was 59 years old. The clouds lifted away and the stars shone extra brightly, as he was ushered into his Heavenly home. Perry and Sandra met at a shared workplace, fell in love, and married April 15th, 1999. This year marked their 24th wedding anniversary. Perry and Sandra blended their family of children together. Brandon, Joey, and Jennifer were close to his heart. Many may remember Perry attending Curtis Baptist School. He was one of a class of 20, graduating in 1982. They were all close throughout school and like family. Perry was quite the athlete, studious, keen witted, and had a zest for life. Perry went on to gain positions at several companies. He enjoyed his work and was proud of his accomplishments. Perry was an inquisitive, warm, and intellectual individual. In his better days, he enjoyed long walks on the beach, exploring, and searching for treasures. He had a fondness for nature and history. Perry's canine companions provided company to him when his health began to decline. He loved each and every one. A major highlight in Perry's life was gaining a new connection with family members. He was thrilled to see them and spoke proudly of them all. Perry was diagnosed with RA early on and did his best to keep it at bay. He liked to stay active and enjoyed meeting up with family and friends for get together a and camping trips. He had a fondness for the North Ga. mountains area. He longed for fishing trips there again and wanted so much to gain his strength back. Perry was a fighter. He battled fiercely against RA and its' accompanying afflictions. He beat the odds many times, because giving up wasn't in him. Perry wouldn't want to be defined or remembered as someone who was ill. Instead, remember that kind spirit of his, who loved so much, and gave the best, big, bear hugs. He just had a certain presence that will be so incredibly missed. The FaceTime, phone calls, and visits during his bouts with RA and into his final days were a source of tremendous joy, comfort, and peace to him. Preceding in death are parents Charles Edward James and Erline Edwards James. His two sisters, Helen Edwards Epps (Russell) of Ellijay, Ga, and Charlotte James Lanning (Craig) of N. Charleston, SC also preceded. Perry was undoubtedly met with open arms and smiles on the other side. Survivors include his wife and love of his life, Sandra Way James, sons Joey Redd and Brandon James (Bethany), and daughter, Jennifer Redd. They were all Perry's kids, and his heart. Surviving siblings include Marsha Laxton, of Augusta, Ga., Charles Edward James Jr. (Doreen), of Augusta, Ga. , Lamar "Red" James, of Augusta, Ga. , Maybell Therington (Stephen) of Augusta, Ga. , Ralph Boyd (Leann) of Augusta, Ga. Special niece, Donna Epps Miller(David) of Ellijay, Ga. is mentioned, as she and Perry were more like brother and sister. Numerous and much loved cousins, nieces, nephews, and family are left behind as well.
