Margie Nell Hudson Anderson

North Augusta, SC—Margie Nell Hudson Anderson, 87, entered into rest Thursday, August 22, 2024. Funeral Services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Mausoleum at Pineview Memorial Gardens, with Dr. William F. Harrell officiating. The family will receive friends in the mausoleum one hour prior to the service. For those who are unable to attend, the funeral service will be streamed live on the funeral home website. www.chanceandhydrick.com Margie was the daughter of the late W. A. “Dock” Hudson and Willie Belle Tharpe Hudson and was a native of Unadilla, Georgia and graduated from Unadilla High School. After graduation, she moved to Macon, Georgia where she met her husband of 64 years, Charlton T. “Andy” Anderson, who passed away in February of 2020. While residing in Macon, they were charter members of Williamson Road Baptist Church where she served as church secretary and taught Sunday School, later moving their membership to Lawrence Drive Baptist Church. Margie retired after 33 years from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as a procurement clerk. In 2002, Andy and Margie relocated to North Augusta, South Carolina to be closer to their family and joined Abilene Baptist Church, later joining First Baptist Church of North Augusta and the Christ in Us Sunday School Class. In January of 2024, Margie moved to The Claiborne at Westlake Assisted Living, where she adapted to her new surroundings, meeting many new friends and enjoyed participating in activities. In her earlier years, Margie enjoyed playing Canasta, Kismet, crocheting, morning walks, riding her bike and cooking delicious home cooked meals. In addition to her husband and parents, Margie was preceded in death by three brothers and sisters-in-law; Archie Lee and Dorthy Hudson, David and Myrtis Hudson and Randolph and Betty Hudson. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law; Rusty and Donna Anderson; a granddaughter and her husband, Jesslyn and Zach Pearson; two great-granddaughters, Evie Pearson and Ellis Pearson; a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their appreciation to her niece, Sandra Fordham for assisting with her care, frequent visits and daily phone calls; her caregivers, the loving and caring staff at The Claiborne at Westlake Assisted Living and Helping Hands Hospice.
