Waynesboro, GA - Joseph Thomas Hamm, Jr., 36, husband of Jessica Palacos Hamm, entered into rest Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 1:00 o’clock with the Reverend Dr. Chauncey Scott officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Hamm, son of Theressa Hamm, Jackson, SC, and Joseph Hamm Sr., Waynesboro, GA he was on born on Nov. 20, 1988, in Twenty-nine Palms California. Born into the life of a "military brat." Grew up as a child, until high school graduation in California, Japan, North Carolina (twice), Florida and Georgia. Duty in the U.S. Marines: Basic; Parris Island SC, Aviation school, Naval Air Station Pensacola FL, UAV Operator school, Fort Huachuca (wa-chew-ka) AZ. Duty stations; Marine Corps Air Station, New River, Jacksonville NC, and Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, Havelock, NC. He graduated from Burke County Comprehensive High School Go Bears! 2007, he then graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2019, Kennesaw, GA, Mecha-Electronics Engineering Degree Go Owls! He was a member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints Kennesaw, GA, born again, and accepted the Lord as his savior. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps 2008-2016. Deployed to Iraq - 2 tours, Aviation Ordnanceman Afghanistan - 1 tour, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Operator. After college he was employed with a company in Marietta GA, as a Technical Engineer, building drones to be used for the military and civilian civil service use. His hobbies: Avid motorcyclist. Enjoyed riding the blue ridge mountains and attending motorcycle rallies and events. Loved building computer systems; enjoyed on-line gaming. Loved fishing, and boating. In addition to his parents, and wife, he is survived by his, stepmother, Denise Kendrick Hamm, Waynesboro GA; his brother, Johnathan Hamm, Waynesboro, GA; his sister, Jordan Hamm, Jackson, SC; his grandmother, Phyllis Miniaci GA, his grandfather, John Williams, WA, his aunts and uncles, Mark Williams WA, Barbara Williams WA, Jadon Drake GA, Carl and Mary Hamm NC, Suzanne Hamm AL, Bernarr and Cindy Hamm VA, Kendra Wilson FL, a multitude of loving extend aunts, uncles and cousins too many to list, along with the firefighters of Fort Gordon Fire and Emergency Services, Fort Gordon GA who mentored him during his youth.
