John Joseph Bacino

John Joseph Bacino, age 77, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 1:00 o’clock with Pastor Joe Lennon, Pastor James Jividen and Pastor Wayne Rutherford officiating. Interment to follow with full Military honors in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the funeral home from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A proud and faithful servant of his country, Mr. Bacino served with honor and distinction in the United States military. His service included four tours in Vietnam, two tours in Korea, and one tour in Germany. His unwavering dedication to his country was matched only by his commitment to his family and his faith. Mr. Bacino was a devoted member of Augusta First Church of the Nazarene, where he found strength, fellowship, and purpose. He was an active and cherished member of the SAMS Group at his church, where he formed lasting friendships and served others with compassion and humility. He was also a faithful member of the American Legion Post 150, where he continued to support and uplift fellow veterans. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Richard, Mike, Raymond, Margaret Sims, Betty, and Lorrine. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Sue E. Bacino; his children, Dale Bacino of Lexington, SC; Lee Gardner (Shanna) of Waynesboro; and Aretino Bacino (Netashia) of Tignall. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride, and numerous nieces and nephews Mr. Bacino’s legacy is one of service, strength, and steadfast love. He will be remembered as a patriot, a man of faith, and a pillar of his family and community. Pallbearers will be Military and Honorary pallbearers will be American legion Post #150. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. David Allen, Dr. Robert West, and the Hephzibah Dialysis Clinic.
