Hazel Laverne Goff Hazel was born in Augusta, GA. on October 19, 1937, to the late Jesse and Irene Burckhalter. She has lived all her life in Augusta, GA. She worked at University Hospital as an assistant in the OR. She attended Solomon's Porch Church in Augusta, GA. Hazel graduated from Richmond Academy High School Augusta, GA. in 1956. Hazel accepted Jesus as her personal Savior while attending Curtis Baptist Church at an early age. She rededicated her life at Fleming Church of God in the late 90's. Hazel is survived by her son Kenneth (Kenny) L. Goff of Augusta, GA. Elizabeth (Lisa) Goff, her ex-daughter-in-love of Laurens, SC. Grandson Frank (Kristy) Goff of Knoxville, TN. Granddaughters Tavera (Pastor Chad) Flowers of Laurens, SC. Jessica (James) Chandler of Augusta, GA. Grandson Tre (Jessica) Stubbs of Richmond, IN. Granddaughter Jacqueline (Jackie) Rucker of North Augusta, SC. Grandson Gary Rucker of Burlington, VT. Great Grandchildren Aiden Goff, Olivia Goff and Kamillie Goff of Knoxville, TN. Ansley Flowers and Brynlee Flowers of Laurens, SC. Ava Von Chandler of Augusta, GA. Ally Stubbs and Luca Stubbs of Richmond, IN. Reagan Grover of North Augusta, SC. Isabella Rucker and Brantley Rucker of Burlington, VT. Niece Pastor Theresa Thigpen (Albert) Bentley of Lincolnton, GA. Nephew Bobby Stewart of Augusta, GA. Best friends Larry (Glenda) Meeks of Hephzibah, GA. In addition to being preceded in death by her parents. She is preceded in death by her husband Willie Lee Goff. Sister Jesse Mae Steward. Daughter Lillie (Angie) Rucker and niece Marcia Albea. Hazel enjoyed serving the Lord, being in Jesus' presence and being a prayer warrior. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also loved to travel, dance, play cards and spend time with friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 21, 2024 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Robbie Thomas, Jody Skinner, Tommy Thigpen, Travis Bush, David Selph, Scott Calloway, and Albert Bentley. A funeral service will be held at Chance and Hydrick Funeral Home Chapel at 2502 Richmond Hill Rd. Augusta, GA at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pastor Chad Flowers and Pastor Theresa Thigpen (Bentley) will officiate.
