Glen Barwick

Charles Glen Barwick, known fondly by everyone as Glen, aged 71, of Hephzibah, Georgia, passed away peacefully at 6:30 AM on September 4, 2026, at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors, Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:00 o’clock with Pastor Michael Weatherford officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 o’clock until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Glen was born in Heidelburg, Germany on April 5, 1955, and was raised in Walterboro, South Carolina. He transferred to Augusta, Ga. 30 years ago with his wife and children. Glen was a hardworking man who, alongside his beloved late wife, Debbie, successfully owned and operated Barwick Transportation Inc. for over 20 years. A man of many simple pleasures, Glen had a passion for working on older cars, fishing, and traveling to create lasting memories with his family. At home, he could often be found relaxing while watching old westerns or keeping up with the news. Above all else, Glen was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was his greatest pride and joy. Glen was preceded in death by his loving wife, Debra K. Barwick; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence O. Barwick of Walterboro, SC; and his older brother, Clarence Michael (Mike) Barwick. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and tenacity and is survived by his three children: Tabetha Ann Weirich and spouse Scott of Hephzibah, GA, Marvin Mangham of Hephzibah, GA, and Terry Barwick of Walterboro, S.C. He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Alexandria Seigler (TN), Clayton Mangham (GA), Emma Mangham (GA), Hunter Crossen (GA) and Alden Barwick and spouse Alana of Walterboro, S.C. his one cherished great-granddaughter, Waylin Sage Barwick; his three siblings: Brenda Parkinson and spouse Anthony "Tony" of Walterboro, S.C., Melodie Truluck and spouse David of Summerville, S.C., and David Barwick, of North Charleston, SC. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his precious fiance, Janice Luckey.
