Claude Albert Faglier

Claude Albert Faglier, 99, a child of the King, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, July 28, 2023. A Service of Celebration will be held Monday morning, July 31, 2023, at 11 o’clock from the Chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors with Rev. Steve Hartman, Rev. Larry Harmon, and Rev. Paul Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park with veteran honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon, July 30, 2023, from 4 until 6. Claude was born in Jefferson County and was raised around the Avera, GA area. He graduated from Avera High School and was employed by Colonial Bakery for 27 years and Prudential for 17 years. Claude was a proud World War II Veteran serving in the US Army Air Corps and US Transport Command. He was a long-time resident of the Augusta area and was a charter member of Windsor Spring Baptist Church. He leaves a legacy of ministering for and serving the Lord and mentoring others. Claude’s gift mix was heavily weighted in Hospital Ministry where he served faithfully for Windsor Spring and West Acres Baptist Churches. He was a charter member of South Augusta Exchange Club and a Board Member for the Augusta Baptist Association and Augusta Rescue Mission. He and his bride enjoyed traveling and were able to visit all fifty states in this great land. His other loves included family, fishing, and hunting. Claude was preceded in death by his bride of 67 years, Mary Frances Landrum Faglier, his father, James Edward Faglier, his mother, Fleta Humphrey Faglier, seven brothers, and five sisters. He is survived by his six children, Don Faglier (Cheryl), Dianne Garner (Billy), Ron Faglier (Carolyn), Jane Pardue (Jimmy), Fran Gossage (Wayne), and Nan Cantey (Russ); eighteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ron Clifton, Webster Harris, Louie McKelvain, Ron Roberts, Sam Green, and Clessie Simmons.
