Anita Anne Paugh

Hephzibah, GA – Anita Anne Paugh, 85, entered into rest on February 29, 2024, at her residence. Memorial services will be held from the chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors this Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Martin Pinnell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Nita, daughter of the late John Willard Clark and the late Dorothie Pratt Clark, was born in Wrentham MA, October 14, 1938. She lived in Augusta most of her adult life where she raised four boys and went back to school to get her Associate degree at Augusta Technical School. She worked many years at Augusta Podiatry and then as a bookkeeper with Bekins. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 464 of Augusta since May 1980. Nita relished many years celebrating with her family and friends poolside at her Hephzibah home. She also treasured the relationships she formed over the past couple of years at Sodalis Martinez Senior Living. She was an avid reader, mostly of romance novels, and there was not a puzzle she didn’t tackle. She enjoyed traveling, mainly by cruise ship, with her latest one this past December to the Panama Canal. She rooted for the Dawgs in good years and bad and tuned in to every NASCAR race to cheer on Chase Elliott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, John Paugh, Bobby Paugh, and J.D. Paugh; her grandson Jimmy James; and her former spouse, Wayne Paugh. She is survived by her son, Bill Paugh (LeiLani); her daughters-in-law, Robin Paugh, Debra Paugh, and Stacy Paugh; her ten Grandchildren, Cassie Ito (Jamie), Carrie Chapman (Thomas), Meagan Taylor (Leighton), Brandon Paugh, Crystal Paugh-Bellamy (Terrance), Joshua Paugh, Russell Paugh, Billy Paugh (Ashley), Robby Paugh (Katie), Olga Lopian (Daniel); and her fifteen great grandchildren, Evan, Odessa, Chloe, Lynden, Brian, Ember, Eve, Clark, Amanda, John, William, Merritt, Sam, Sophia, and Isabella.
