Martha "Marti" Greiner

Evans, GA - Martha Ann "Marti" Greiner, 65, wife of Alan D. Greiner, entered into rest surrounded by her family, Friday, August 17, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 20, at 12:00 P.M. from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Elder Lamar Willis conducting. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Greiner, a native of Reidsville, GA, was the daughter of the late Lyman Padgett. She had lived in Augusta most of her life and for the past five years in Evans. Mrs. Greiner was retired from the Richmond County Board of Education most recently working at Hephzibah High School. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Marti enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking. Her grandchildren were her greatest love and joy. Marti never met a stanger and was a ray of sunshine, with her bright blue eyes and beautiful smile. Marti's love for her Savior was reflected in her service to others. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda Allyson Greiner; as well as her brother, Charles Padgett. In addition to her husband she is survived by her mother, Audrey Padgett of Darien, GA; her daughter and son-in-law, Lara T. and Todd "Rudy" Broome; her son and daughter-in-law, Al and Denise D. Turner; her brothers and their wives, Richard and Libby Padgett and Melvin and Cindy Padgett all of Darien, GA; her sisters and brother-in-law, Marline Padgett and Sharon Rosier both of Darien, GA and Judi and Wayne Roland of Mims, FL; her beloved grandchildren Dalton and Ana Blake Turner, Tyler, Karson and Kennedy Broome; her great grandchild, Mallory Grace; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be, Keith Greiner, Craig Greiner, Matt Greiner, Shane Peace, Gene Diduch and Doug Flowers. Honorary pallbearers will be Past and Present Staff of Hephzibah High School. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
