Louise Drake (Hudson)

Augusta, GA - Louise Edna Drake (Hudson), 77, entered into rest Monday, July 29, 2019, at her residence. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019. The family will receive friends at 3:00 until the hour of service at 4:00 PM. Service will be officiated by Reverend Matt Wigley from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors. Mrs. Louise (Nanny) lived in Augusta and retired as the Assistant Director of Nursing from Keysville Nursing Home. She graduated from Richmond Academy High School and the University Hospital School of Nursing. She loved everybody and her family meant the world to her. Her home was always the gathering place for the community of kids and was filled with laughter and love. Everyone always knew they could come to their Nanny for anything. Her bright blue eyes and warm smile never failed to make you feel loved and welcomed. You never left her home without a full belly, a big hug, and an I love you. She was a devout Christian and would split her time evenly attending the different churches of her family members until she was no longer able to attend. Not only her children and family but just about anyone you meet will tell you she was the greatest woman they ever met and was just too sweet for this world. Her presence on this earth was a true gift. Her light was unyielding and a beacon in this dark and sometimes cruel world. As much as her passing saddens us all, we take comfort knowing her wings are full, her halo is shining and that there's another angel around the throne. She will be truly and dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.H. Reeves and Montine Reeves; her sister, Alice Reeves; her brothers, Billy Reeves and Jimmy Thompson; her niece, Janet Harrison; and her grandson, Jeremy Reeves. She is survived by her children, Marci Renee Drake, Tina Drake McCoy and her husband, Thomas Frederick McCoy, Ronald F. Drake, Jr and his wife, Melinda Morley Drake, and Alisha R. Drake McCoy and her husband, Thomas Forrest McCoy; her brother, Bobby Reeves; her nephews, Bert Harrison and Alan "Hollywood" Harrison; her grandchildren, Tamra Smith and her husband, Tony Smith, Barry "LB" Davis Jr, Candice Malone Lucree and her husband, Gerald C. Lucree, Ryan Edwin Malone, Kayla Grieco and her husband, Anthony Grieco, and Heather Olson and her husband, Dustin Olson; her great grandchildren, Calvin Watts, Ashleigh Blackwell, Kenzi Blackwell (Smith), Payton Davis, Ryan Malone Jr, Karlena Malone, Rylan Malone, Thomas Grieco, Brookyn Grieco, and Genson Olson; and her special extended family, Mrs. Rhonda Malone Drake Jernigan along with the Malone and Jernigan families, Mrs. Hilde McCoy along with the McCoy family, and Mrs. Gloria Morris along with the Morris family.
