Lt. Glenn Sammons

Hephzibah, GA – Lt. Glenn Sammons, 54, husband of Amber Lillard Sammons, entered into rest Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Keysville Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 30, 2015, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Chaplain Ken Gross officiating.

Interment will follow in Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Lt. Sammons was a native of Richmond County and was with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department for over 36 years. He was an avid hunter, a member of the NRA, and was a fan of NASCAR.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Glenn Sammons, Jr and his wife, Naomi, of Grovetown, Priscilla Kitchens, of Atlanta, Brittany Sammons, of Augusta, and Molli Lillard, of Hephzibah; his parents, George W. and Sarah Sammons, of Martinez; his brothers, Irvin W. Sammons, and his wife, Roberta, of Cypress, TX, and Gary S. Sammons, and his wife, Julie, of Grovetown; his sisters, Debbie Sammons Pearson, and her husband, Doug, of Appling, and Terry Sammons Nalley, and her husband, Sarge, of Grovetown; five grandchildren; his mother and father in law, Brad and Marie Lillard, of Hephzibah; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and brothers and sisters in blue.

Active pallbearers will be Mike Logue, Billy Jones, Bubba Reeves, Darrell Groomes, Rolf Cramer, and Bernie Hardin.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department, past and present.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 29, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
