Louise “Toni” Fletcher Grimstead

Augusta, GA – Louise “Toni” Fletcher Grimstead, 60, wife of Dale E. Grimstead, of Hensley Ct, entered into rest, Sunday, January 16 , 2011, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 19, at 3:00 pm from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Reverend Jim Hyder officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Grimstead, daughter of the late Leonard M., Sr, and Elvira Anderson Fletcher, was born in Richmond County and was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church.  She worked in the convenience store business in the Southeast since high school, holding many different positions.  Most recently, she was manager of the Kangaroo Store at Washington Road and Pleasant Home Road.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Dean Alan Brown, Jr., Thomas Anthony Brown, and John Paul Lemon Jr.; brothers, Leonard M. Fletcher, Jr, and his wife, Theresa, of Grovetown, Daniel E. Fletcher of Hephzibah, and David W. Fletcher and his wife, Donna, of Augusta; sisters Brenda E. Miller and her husband, Bob, of Augusta, and Miriam Herrin and her husband, Gene, of Appling; grandchildren, Dean Alan Brown III, Blake Boatwright, Troy Groover, Brandon Thomas Brown, Daniel Anthony Brown, Timothy Paul Lemon, and Robert Paxton Lemon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dean Alan Brown, Jr., Dean Alan Brown, III, Thomas Anthony Brown, Brandon Thomas Brown, John Paul Lemon, Jr., and Timothy Paul Lemon.

If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd, Augusta, GA 30909; or to Liberty United Methodist Church, 2040 Liberty Church Rd, Hephzibah, GA 30815.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

  1. Toni, you will be greatly missed. You were a remarkable lady with a compassion that many can only hope to ever have. Heaven has gained a remarkable angel.

    To your family: You all will be in my thoughts and prayers!!!!! She was a truly remarkable lady, and has left a void noone will ever be able to fill.

  2. Toni and I went to Butler together and I fondly remember her sweet disposition and soft voice. She was one of the nicest fellow students there. My hope and prayer is that the love and beautiful memories you shared with her will outlast the pain of grief. With sympathy, Debbie Denning
