Lois Grimstead Davis

Augusta, GA- Mrs. Lois G. Davis, 83, went to be with her Lord on September 9, 2022. She was the loving mother of Keith Davis and Gary Davis.

Lois was born in Augusta, GA, on October 6, 1938, and graduated from the Academy of Richmond County High School in 1956. Lois dearly loved the Lord, her family, and her country. Being with her sons and grandchildren brought her much joy. She was an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and participated in many of their activities. Her hobbies included being an Avon representative and going on trips with the CSRA Road Runners Camping Club. During her lifetime she traveled to many places and enjoyed meeting new people and learning about their cultures. Lois was a beautiful soul and blessed all who came into contact with her.

Family members include her sons, Keith Davis (Jodie) and Gary Davis (Teresa); grandchildren, Jeff Davis (Katie), Kelly Osment (Brian), Brad Davis (Hayley), Greg Davis (Alex), and Anna Davis; great grandchildren, Easton Davis, Hudson Davis, and Ezra Yo Davis; brother, Dale Grimstead; and many more nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Ruby Grimstead and sisters, Betty Grimstead and Elna G. Harris.

A graveside and service will be held Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 2 pm, at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend Ricky Coule officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 pm at Chance and Hydrick Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Davis, Greg Davis Brad Davis, Brian Osment, Donnie and Wynn Ethridge.

    • Keith and Gary this is Wilma Jean’s daughter Mary Julia ! I’m sorry for your loss. We loved Lois she was so kind and loving at the reunions at Jekyll! She always told me how pretty I was and made me feel special! My heart hurts for y’all and I know how much it hurts to lose your mom! Prayers now for all of your famillies

  1. Keith and Gary Please know how blessed I have felt for having been part of the Grimstead family for two years as Dale’s first wife, Jean. I am grateful that Miss Ruby, Betty and Lois exchanged cards and letters over the years after I returned to Colorado. Your mother was a wonderful caring person. My thought and prayers are with you during this tough time.
