Linda Poitevint Beck

Augusta, GA – Linda Poitevint Beck, 70, wife of 50 years to Reverend John L. Beck, entered into rest Thursday, June 28, 2018, at her residence.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018, at 4:00 PM from First Baptist Church of North Augusta with Reverend Roy Kiser and Caroline Thomas officiating.

Mrs. Beck, daughter of the late Walter Lenwood and Rachel Hannon Poitevint, was born in Pelham, GA. She graduated from Augusta College with a Bachelors Degree in English and from the University of South Carolina with a Masters Degree in Library Information Science. She retired from the Jeff Maxwell Branch Library as Library Manager. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta and the Christ in Us Sunday School Class.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters, Angela Beck (Dorothy Morris), of Ladson, SC, Stephanie Beck, of North Augusta, and Melissa Milligan (Brett), of Blythe; her grandchildren, Jessey Goldston, Rachel Smoot (Allen), Colin Milligan, and Mallory Bonham; and her sisters, Sharon Coleman (David), of Stuart, FL, Charlotte Howard (Randy), of Grovetown, Dona Brown (Skip), of Augusta, Lorraine McGee (Jim), of Fernandina Beach, FL, and Wanda Baston (Donald), of Augusta.

If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the Jud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer’s Care, 1901 Central Ave, Augusta, GA 30904.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 30, 2018, from 3:30 until the hour of service at the church.

  3. I am so sorry to learn of Linda’s passing. We worked together many years at the library and she was a wonderful lady, always very compassionate, and very smart! She will be sorely missed by her family and friends I know. My prayers for God’s comfort are with the Beck family at this sad time.
