Lieutenant Colonel (U.S. Army Retired) Robert Donald Colaluca

Keysville, GA – Lieutenant Colonel (U.S. Army Retired) Robert Donald Colaluca died May 6, 2014, after a long and brave battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Mary Theresa Colaluca, and his brothers Anthony and Michael.

He was born June 25, 1923, in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Victoria and Michael Colaluca. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam and he was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post No. 178. He was the ultimate family man and his grandsons were the apples of his eye.

He is survived by his daughters, Mary Ann Routh, of Easley, SC, and Barbara (Clint) Barnett, of Hephzibah, GA, and four grandsons, David (Lorrie) Ziegler, of San Antonio, TX, Daniel Ziegler of Orlando, FL, Travis (Miranda) Anderson, of Wesley Chapel, FL, and Scott (Jordan) Anderson, of Graniteville, SC.

The family would like to acknowledge the many kindnesses shown by the entire staff of Keysville Nursing Home.

In keeping with his wishes, his remains were cremated and will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 106 SRP Drive, Suite A, Evans, GA 30809.
