Leslie “Allen” Jones

Augusta, GA – Leslie “Allen” Jones, 59, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Augusta University Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 1:00 PM from Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Pastor Calvin Banks and Bishop John Aguilar, officiating.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the graveside.
Outdoor Celebration of Life, following the graveside services, will be held at 3317 Young Forest Drive, Augusta.
Mr. Jones, son of the late Annette Hutto Wright and Leslie Alonso Jones,Sr., was a crane operator with Local Operators Union #474. He attended Shepherds of Grace and was Associate Pastor at the Bible Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, who raised him, Mamie Downs; and his grandfathers, Johnnie Hutto and Harvey “Red” Downs.
He is survived by his children, Joyce Annette Jones, Michelle Sullivan, and Stacey Tice (Shawn); his grandchildren, Lindsi, Paige, Maggie, and Hunter; the mother of his children, Tammy Jones; his brother, Les Jones, Jr. (Stephanie); his sisters, Linda Evangeline Sligar (John), Kay Payne Goodin, Pamela Rickenbaker, and April Groomes (Jamie); and several nieces and nephews, whom he loves dearly.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Tice, Gerald Denton, John Sligar, Kyle Bradley, Les Jones, Preston Hart, Chris Jones, and Patrick Graham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hastin Odom, Clifton Mundy, Hunter Tice, Allen Braswell, Gregory Grant, Bobby Smith, and Trevor Richter.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 12, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you help someone in need.

Allen has held a place in my memories, there was a goodness about Allen, he worked with me a few times years back, we nicknamed him (Hoss), because of his easy going personality, and outright honesty, he,s the type of person, it,s an honor to have known him, My only regrett is having lost touch with him, there’s few people our life time one could trust anything with. Allen was one of them, I,d run into Allen occasionally and we,d plan to hang out, it was mostly my fault the opportunity slipped by, my regret. One thing for certain, his place was reserved for him in Heaven

  2. Allen Jones was a dear friend and one of the most humble and Christ minded people I have ever met. I have worked with him off and on for 40 years. He was the same man at work as he was in the Church. Love you my brother and I WILL see you again.

  4. My Brother Whit Bradley and Allen were good friends and Christian brothers . Allan was a skilled craftsmen with trim work . He did great custom trim work for me when I was building my house we went to lunch during that time and enjoyed fishing on the lake in his boat . We always talked about Our faith . I know him and WHIT are rejoicing together . He was so glad that WHIT could attend his Daughters wedding . He was a proud Father of the bride ! My prayers are with the family .
