LCDR Ira Dozier Hozey, Jr. US Navy (Ret)
Waynesboro, GA – Mr. Ira Dozier Hozey, Jr, husband of Patricia Hozey, entered into rest Monday, July 29, 2013, at University Hospital.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 3, 2013, at 2:00 PM from Waynesboro First United Methodist Church, with Reverend H. Craig Hutto and Dr. David Carter officiating.
Mr. Hozey was born in Jersey City, NJ. He retired after 25 years of service from the United States Navy, having served during both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of American Legion Post #120. He was a member of Waynesboro First United Methodist Church and the Horne-Hargrove Sunday School Class.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, John Hozey, Gulfport, MS, Michelle Fowlkes, Milton, FL, Michael Hozey, Columbia, SC, Jonathan Hozey, Metter, GA, Tia Hozey, Milton, FL, William Hozey, Honolulu, HI, Thomas Hozey, Metter, GA, and David Redman, Athens, GA; eighteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Horne-Hargrove Sunday School Class, the American Legion Post #120, the John Bearden Family, and Renata and Anselmo Parra, of Brazil.
If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund or the Mission Fund of Waynesboro First United Methodist Church, 802 N Liberty St, Waynesboro, GA 30830.
The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
