Kent Highfield

Augusta, GA – Kent Highfield, 56, son of Ann Highfield and the late Larry Highfield, entered into rest Wednesday, August 24, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 27, 2016, at 1:00 PM from the Storey Chapel of First Baptist Church of Augusta with Patti Fowler officiating.

Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Highfield was born in Rome, GA, but spent most of his life in Augusta. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he attended the Jesus Special Followers Sunday School class. He was also active in Peoples First and loved to hang out at Harrison Heights. Kent graduated from T.W. Josey and worked at Augusta Training Shop and Lyndale. He enjoyed bowling with his friends in the Exceptional Bowling League and playing tennis. He loved keeping in touch with his family and his friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Travis and Ruby Stansell, and Turner and Mattie Highfield.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Keith (Brenda) and Brian (Stacey); his nephews, Travis, Turner, and Chase; his nieces, Brandi, Stephanie, Kelsey, Sydney, and Bonnie; his great nieces, Bailey, Emma, and Khloe; his loving aunts, Phyllis Groves, Mildred Kelly, Marie Evans, and Martha Ragland (Mike); his uncle Bo Highfield (Rachel); and many dear cousins.

His family would like to offer special thanks to Affinis Hospice, especially Lee, for their care.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 27, 2016, from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at First Baptist Church of Augusta.

  1. My sincere sympathy go out to you at this sad time! I can only imagine what you are going through, losing someone so precious so soon. Please be assured that it is because of the sin of Adam and Eve, not God, that we get sick and die (Romans 5:12). Our Loving Creator has arranged through his Son, Jesus, to restore (resurrect) to life “all those in the memorial tombs.” (John 5:28) May you be strengthened and comforted by this heartwarming promise from God’s Word, the Bible.
