Kathy Lynne Cook Williams

Hephzibah, GA – Kathy Williams, 57, entered into rest, March 27, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012, at 2:00 PM from First Baptist Church of Gracewood, with Pastor James M. Canada, II, Reverend Daniel Hedgepath, and Reverend Stephen Burnett officiating.
Ms. Williams will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.
Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
Ms. Williams was a native of Augusta, GA, and was the daughter of Daisy B. Cook and the late John A. Cook of Augusta. She was a graduate of Butler High School and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Augusta College. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gracewood where she played the piano and taught Sunday School. She served on the Board of Directors for First Academy and was head of the Finance Committee for the church. Prior to Gracewood Baptist, she was a member of Southside Baptist where she worked with the youth and played the piano and organ. Ms. Williams worked for the City of Augusta in the department of Finance as a Financial Analyst. And she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Her greatest enjoyments were playing the piano, traveling with her friends, playing cards and playing with her grandchildren. She loved her job and co-workers in the Finance Department.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy L. Williams and her father John A. Cook.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her daughter, April N. Mills and son in law, Roy E. Mills; her sisters and brothers in law, Donna and Derek Balbag, of Beaverton, OR, and Carol and Dan Quinn, of Snellville, GA; her grandchildren, Dylan, Daisy, and Dawson Mills, of Hephzibah; her nieces, Alison Balbag, of Los Angeles, CA, and Brittany Balbag, of Beaverton, OR; and her nephew Patrick Quinn, of Athens, GA.
If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Gracewood, 3633 Peach Orchard Rd, Augusta, GA 30906.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 30, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
