Augusta, GA – John Rhett Ransom, age 53, passed away at home on November 1, 2019, after a long and valiant battle with cancer.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019, at 10:00 AM, from The Episcopal Church of Our Savior, 4227 Columbia Rd, Martinez, GA 30907, with Reverend Al Crumpton officiating.

Rhett grew up on a farm in the heart of Martinez, riding horses, water skiing with his dad, helping his mom with her dog breeding business, and honing his pool playing skills.  Since 1997, he was the founder and owner of In-Home Services, a business that his daughter, Selena, and nephew, Derek, have continued.  He will be forever loved and missed by family, friends, and his church community at the Episcopal Church of Our Savior.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Sandra Ransom, and his sisters, Jan and Vicky Ransom.

Family members include Betty Ransom, Lisa Cassetty; children, Selena Thomas (and Gabe), Morganna Thomas (and Matthew), and Malarie Steedley (and Jeff); grandsons, Logan and Dexter Thomas and Declan Steedley; brother, Frank Ransom; nephews, Joe Koon, Derek Hall, and Matthew Bryson; and niece, Jennifer Hall.
