John Michael “Mike” Beck

Augusta, GA – Mr. John Michael “Mike” Beck, 60, entered into rest on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held from the Bible Deliverance Temple, this Friday, August 14, 2015 at 11:00 A.M., with Dr. Kelly McKnight and Reverend Charlotte McGee-Ginn officiating. Mr. Beck will lie in state at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Beck, a native of Aiken, had made Augusta his home for most of his life, he had worked as a Foreman with International Paper and was a lifelong member of the Bible Deliverance Temple. Mr. Beck loved to hunt, fish, play golf and cook, he also loved the Georgia Bulldogs and NASCAR. He was a longtime coach at the Master’s City Little League where he was a mentor to many young men.

He is survived by his parents, David and Catherine Moore of Augusta; his brothers, Donnie and Debbie Beck of Hephzibah and Danny and Rita Beck of Martinez; his sisters, Linda and Larry Scott of San Antoniio, TX, and Brenda and Jim Adcox of Phoenix, AZ; his uncle, William “Tommy” Wright of Jackson; his aunts, Debbie E. “Sally” and Carl Morris of Appling, and Edna Ivey of Bath, SC; two special young men whom he mentored, Matthew Tindell and Patrick Patterson; as well as eight nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be, Randy Peters, Jimmie Stewart, Tommy Krause, Gary Anderson, Chuck Walker and Winston Walker.

If desired, memorials may be made in Mr. Beck’s memory to the Bible Deliverance Temple, 1855 Fenwick Street, Augusta, GA, 30904.
The family will receive friends this Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
