John Andy “Big John” Collins

Augusta, GA – John Andy “Big John” Collins went home to the Lord on July 11, 2011, after a long battle with diabetes.

Graveside services will be held Friday, July 15, at 3:00 pm from Hillcrest Memorial Park with Stuart Waller officiating.

Family and friends are requested to assemble at the grave.

“Big John” worked as an Automotive Distributor.  He was a racing enthusiast and an excellent mechanic.  He worked on some of the fastest cars, boats, and motorcycles in the CSRA.  John was the founder of Big Boys Toys Car Club.  He was also an advisor to the automotive class at Cross Creek High School and a graduate of the school of hard knocks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Monroe Collins and Hisako Yasui Collins.

He is survived by his sons, Bucky Collins, and Christian “Little Man” Collins; his brothers, Jack Collins and James Collins; his sister, Janet Burgess; nieces, nephews; and hundreds of friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday at the cemetery following the service.
